Steve and Colleen Gleeson live and work the home farm, which was established by Michael Gleeson in 1846, when he emigrated from Ireland and received a land grant from Queen Victoria. Steve is now the sixth generation to own and farm the property and expand. He agrees with his dad who always said that “if you love what you do, it’s not work”. Steve started farming in 1989 alongside his dad and brother and now along with his two sons. They have a crop rotation of winter wheat, field corn, seed soybeans and commercial soybeans.

For over five years, Steve and Colleen have been selling corn to Dover Corn. They enjoy being able to sell their corn locally and being able to support small businesses.  As grain growers, they like to see their product go from seed to table. Farmers Gold is a quality snack product that tastes great and the Gleesons are proud to be a part of it.
